Rose Quartz is one of the most sought after varieties of quartz as much as for it's pleasant color as for it's mystical qualities.  Titanium and manganese give this stone it's gentle shades of pink.  Most specimens available today come from Brazil, but also India, Madagascar and North America.   

In a spiritual sense, rose quartz is associated with the heart.  Some believe it can aid in the restoration of peace, either in family matters or amongst people in conflict.  It is said to promote self-esteem and to transmit a sense of well-being to those around us.
